Frequently Asked Questions
Deep tissue vs sports massage, what’s the difference?
Deep tissue uses slow, sustained pressure into deeper layers to reduce chronic tension; sports massage adds event-specific techniques and assisted stretching for performance and recovery in Amsterdam clients.
What should I expect during a 60-minute session?
A brief assessment, tailored pressure (light/medium/strong), focused work on 1–3 priority areas, and simple aftercare. Every session is personalised—not a script.
Can I work out after my massage?
Light movement is fine. Save heavy lifting or intense training for the next day, especially after deep tissue or cupping. Hydrate well.
Will cupping leave marks, and how long do they last?
Often yes—temporary circles that usually fade in 2–7 days. We adjust placement and intensity to your comfort.
What’s the difference between 60 and 90 minutes for Full Body?
60 min = full-body pass with extra focus on 1–2 areas. 90 min = slower pace and more detailed work across multiple zones.
How many sessions will I need?
Acute tension: 1–3. Chronic patterns: 3–4 weekly, then maintenance every 2–4 weeks. Body-shaping programs typically 4–6.
How often should I come?
Maintenance is every 2–4 weeks. Weekly can help during stress, recovery, or targeted body-shaping phases.
When should I avoid getting a massage?
Skip massage with fever/acute infection, contagious skin issues, or a new injury/swelling. If unsure, WhatsApp us for guidance.
Do you offer pregnancy-safe massage?
Yes, with adaptations. Please note your trimester in the booking; we avoid deep abdominal work and certain techniques.
Do you provide post-surgery lymphatic drainage?
Yes—with medical clearance. Share your procedure date and any clinician guidance so we can plan timing safely in Amsterdam.
What is osteopathy and how is it different from massage?
Osteopathy (manual therapy) focuses on gentle, assessment-led techniques to support alignment and mobility; massage targets muscles and soft tissue for tension relief.
Do you diagnose medical conditions or prescribe treatment plans?
No. We provide professional manual therapy and aftercare advice, but we don’t diagnose or replace medical care.
How should I prepare for my session?
Hydrate, avoid heavy meals 2 hours before, arrive 5 minutes early, and keep skin lotion-free for anti-cellulite, Wrap Styx, taping, or cupping.
